Yahoo and Cisco plagued with security flaws


Cisco reports that more than 840,000 of its networking devices have a flaw that can be exploited by hackers tied to the National Security Agency. Specifically, the flaw affects Cisco's IOS, IOS XR and IOS XE software and targets the device's memory. More here. On the other hand a "state-sponsored actor" stole personal data from at least 500 million Yahoo accounts two years ago, the company says, including email addresses, names and birth dates. The announcement comes as Verizon is expected to acquire Yahoo in a deal that could close in early 2017. Read more here.
